NEW FROM THE SOUTH…
If France has a large number of triathletes, the south of France and the city of Montpellier in particular have a lot to do with it. Land of triathlon, Montpellier has the Pôle France as well as several clubs including an elite, namely the Montpellier Agglomeration Triathlon.
Inspired by the success of an event like the CHALLENGE Roth, which is none other than the triathlon with the most spectators in the world (+260,000), the CHALLENGE Family label chose Montpellier for its art of living, the beauty and variety of landscapes.
2 DIFFERENT DISTANCES ON THE SAME DAY
If the sequence order of the disciplines of a triathlon remains the same, it is the distances that will change. From this first edition, CHALLENGE Montpellier has a Middle Distance race in store for you as well as a Long Distance on the same day.
Both will take almost the same routes but with different mileage. While Middle Distance and Middle Distance relay athletes line up for a 1.9km swim, 90km bike and 21.1km run, Full Distance athletes will line up for a 3.8km swim, 180km bike and finish with a 42.2km marathon run walk.
Put your name on the winners of this first edition of the CHALLENGE Montpellier on the Middle Distance. This will give you the opportunity to come and break your record in the following years.
The 1.9 km swim, the 90 km bike and the 21.1 km run offer spectacular courses with beautiful views of the Mediterranean Sea and the hinterland of Montpellier, ending with a running course in foot that will cross the new town and its emblematic buildings.
